#30DaysofSpotlight – A Letter from Jeri Gaile

A Message from Jeri Gaile, director, The Music Center’s Spotlight program

Over the past 30 years, The Music Center’s Spotlight, our free nationally acclaimed scholarship and arts training program for high school students, has transformed the lives of more than 42,000 alumni. I have had the pleasure of directing this program for the last 17 years. To see the growth of young artists from their first video audition, to their first master class, to their participation in workshops and in semifinal auditions, is nothing short of astounding. We are proud to offer students the opportunity to shine!

In celebration of 30 years of excellence, we’re launching a 30 Days of Giving Campaign called #30DaysofSpootlight to ensure Spotlight can reach even more students, particularly those in underserved areas. And I have exciting news: Our Spotlight 30th Anniversary Chair Timothy S. Wahl has committed to match – two-to-one – all online gifts made over the next 30 days, up to $10,000, which will be effectively tripled by Tim to $30,000!

Luckily, this coincides with the launch of The Music Center’s Facebook Donate button. Now it is easier than ever before to support The Music Center and The Music Center’s Spotlight program.

Participating in programs like Spotlight can help students gain self-esteem by challenging them to step out of their comfort zone and shine a light on who they truly are. If students are brilliant, kind, powerful and supportive to themselves and their peers, everyone wins!

Donations from supporters like you make it possible for us to offer scholarships and invaluable training, including workshops, master classes, personalized feedback and coaching at zero cost to students.

We’re hard at work to ensure Spotlight reaches even more students, but we need your help today. Will you make a gift on our Facebook page to support Spotlight, so we can continue to transform young lives through the arts?

Thank you for investing in our students and the future of the arts.

Sincerely,

Jeri Gaile
