LA Phil has a very full week of classical music as well as just down-right classics.
- Tomorrow night Miles Davis/Gil Evans: Still Ahead features original Evans arrangements from the classic albums Porgy and Bess, Sketches of Spain and Miles Ahead, plus selections from Quiet Nights.
- Saturday night presents Johnny Mathis with the Los Angeles Philharmonic performing classics and personal favorites in his 59th year in the music industry.
- On Monday night see Arlo Guthrie ALICE’ S RESTAURANT 50th Anniversary as the veteran singer/songwriter shares classic songs and anecdotes from a life campaigning for social justice.
- On Tuesday Chamber Music Society: All-Mozart not only fills you with an evening exclusively of Mozart, but also kicks off with a complimentary pre-concert wine tasting reception!
Tonight at the REDCAT experience The Southland Ensemble Plays Early Robert Ashley, in which you’ll find the experimental music collective focusing on Ashley’s conceptual and seldom-performed compositions from the 1960s. Then on Monday evening come out for The Films of Gregory J. Markopoulos with a program including Bliss (1967, 7 min.) and Gammelion (1968, 54 min.).
