Ticket Tricks – Avoiding Handling Fees

The Music Center Handling Fees

“Look Ma, no fees!” (Pointe shoes not required for pick up.)

For today’s Ticket Tricks post we want to talk about handling fees.  Handling fees are an extra charge that comes with all ticket purchases when you purchase them online or over the phone.  It’s a necessary charge, but one that can kind of put a damper on your day, as it’s usually unexpected for first time ticket buyers.  Even if you know it’s coming, handling fees can still be a bummer and sometimes may effect your final decision on whether to see a show or not.

If you find yourself in this very predicament then read on, cause there is a way to avoid the handling fees for every dance show at The Music Center that you may not realize!

Basically, if you come up to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion box office windows during their hours (which are Monday – Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)  and purchase your tickets right there in person, the handling fee is eliminated!  Simple as that!  What’s more, you can park at The Music Center for FREE for up to 30 minutes – plenty of time to pop up to the plaza and place your order.

Try it out with our upcoming performance of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater (and we think you may like it!)
