This Week @MusicCenterLA

In addition to gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day, we have quite a few things going on over here…

LA Opera continues with performances of The Barber of Seville tonight and Saturday and has turned in some really favorable reviews including this one from Mark Swed at the L.A. Times.

Center Theatre Group continues its run of the provocative and classic drama The Price at the Mark Taper Forum this week, which challenges the audience with the question: how do we measure the value of our lives? Beautiful trailer here from CTG. Alternately, Dame Edna’s Glorious Goodbye The Farewell Tour comes to a close this Sunday at the Ahmanson to make way for Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella opening Tuesday night! Do you have a dress for the ball?

LA Phil presents two chances to catch Dudamel’s New World, and an evening of a wonderful array of master piano works as played by Grammy-winning American pianist Murray Perahia in Recital. On Saturday as part of their World Music Series, the Walt Disney Concert Hall is presenting 20 Years of Freedom: Hugh Masekela & Vusi Mahasela, Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
